Our commitment intends to enhance the products of the most genuine Sicilian tradition, which we transform in the laboratory with cutting-edge techniques, involving our customers in the ethical message of local food: healthy, territorial, good, zero km, directly on the table of the conscious consumer.
The name, a territory
Domenico Fazello in 1558, in his “De rebus Siculis decades duae” indicated under the name “Sari” the lava stone stones, a fundamental element of the Etna territory.
The idea of Sari was born from Roberto Carbone, a young entrepreneur from Catania and food technologist. Roberto invests resources, knowledge, energy and time in the experience of growing aromatic and medicinal plants on the slopes of the volcano, in a small plot of property, a graduation gift from his parents: a small paradise inside the Etna Park, between Mount Ilice and Mount Gorna, in the Grotta Comune district of Trecastagni. Roberto did not inherit a family culture in the agricultural sector, but decided to stay in his own land.
Here, applying the knowledge learned thanks to his studies, he interprets and re-evaluates the very rich biodiversity of Etna. At the University of Catania, the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) is now studying the developments of the herbal tea market and publishing scientific papers on the MAP's (Medicinal and aromatic plants) supply chain.
" We are young growers of ideas " is perhaps Roberto's expression that best summarizes and describes the vision of the founder of Sari-Azienda Agricola today.
We invite people to season dishes with new flavours, through colourful, healthy and organic aromatic blends. Using our medicinal plants in the kitchen means adding a healthier character to dishes.
We like to make functional herbal teas that are practical, tasty and beneficial for a person's health.
We only use local, native and seasonal ingredients, an expression of the territory and its excellence.
